See the title. Lemme explain.
I am constantly told I have been deprived because there are several things I have not done or seen that apparently everyone has.
1. Seen Mary Poppins, The Nightmare Before Christmas (Actually I recently saw that one, but when I started this blog post I hadn't seen it yet.)
2. Sent a text message
3. Had sex (Conversation with one of my non christian girls inspired this one)
4. Seen anything about the Ninja Turtles. (So I have NO idea what you are talking about when you refer to them!!! Stop doing it!!!)
5. TP'd a house
Among many other things. And I would like to stand up for myself.
A. While there are many movies and TV shows that I have not seen, there are many more that I have. What 5 year old watched Star Trek Voyager every night? Me. And I am proud of it!
B. While I have never sent a text message, that means I have never racked up a phone bill. Something I am sure my parents are glad of.
C. I am not even going to go into that one aside from to say, "Marriage woman! Marriage!"
D. OK, somebody might have to show me the ninja turtle stuff.
E. I'm still young arn't I ;-)

ReplyDeletei) There is absolutely no loss being made in not having seen Dick Van Dyke's appalling cockney accent. No loss there.

ii) I get 200 free text messages, I have gone over once, by 10 pence, its the dang blasted phone calls that kill me.

iii) I can't actually say I am Christian anymore (was brought up with it), Had I slept with someone before meeting my fiance yes, regrets though, I have none. What I do respect these more than I used now that I have changed my spiritual emphasis, is just how sacred it is between two people who love each other. That isn't to say that I would wait 'til marriage now, or that I slept with the wrong people before (I have never cheated on someone, which to me is cheating on yourself btw)but that being with the right person (be that marriage or simply with someone you love and respect) it an expresion of love in its highest form, and shouldn't be debased by using it as a currency, be it of feelings or other. (Sorry just my opinions)

iv) I wish I had never seen ninja turtles (I was there for the first round as a 9 year old, I had the trading cards, drew the turtles, I hung with the boys a lot) Its pretty purile crap, explains why the recent movie tanked at the box office. Again you are so not missing anything!
5. TP'd a house
v) I can say as a 28 year old woman, neither have I (It is classed as vandalism, and I always worry about the environment should it rain)
But as you said, you are (as well as I am) but a youngster!!!
